Roni is a fifth generation born and raised Calgarian. She loves the water and feels truly blessed to have a summer property with her husband at Pine Lake. She also enjoys travelling to tropical destinations in the winter.
I like that BOWEN has a strong culture based on collaboration and connection. BOWEN Group stays true to the vision of Making People Matter. I love that I have the opportunity to plan activities that help make the culture stronger each and every day. Between our monthly milestone recognitions at our potlucks, celebrating holidays with fun activities, hosting celebrations for anniversaries, engagements, weddings or the arrival of a baby to surprising the team with a hot chocolate buffet on a cold day – just to name a few.
I have learned that I love working with people and helping them though any situation – good or bad. My ability to gain trust quickly with my peers is very important to me, and I love knowing that my colleagues come to me when they need support in any area of the business. It brings me joy to know that my support can help others thrive in their work.

Adam is an avid traveler, who takes every opportunity to visit an international destination. He has visited 17 countries so far. Adam has also swam in a lake full of jellyfish.

When I started at BOWEN, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do long-term. Through my various roles at BOWEN, I have been able to hone in on my passion for reporting and analytics.
Understanding who to go to for various problems is key. Focus on building relationships and learning about the knowledge your colleagues hold.
Senior Recruitment Specialist
Brenda is a born and raised Ontario girl, who moved to Calgary 12 years ago. She enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs, golfing and time with her three grandchildren.
The people make the culture and it starts at the top. The respect starts at the top. One thing that really stands out to me is our CEO has never called us her staff; we are her colleagues! That respect runs downhill and even when there are tough conversations to be had, we find a very respectful way to do it. The honesty that starts at top, the communication at all levels of the organization – sharing successes and not hiding the truth when times are tough. I would honestly do anything for the BOWEN family – their strong work ethic and customer/people focus is also a fit with who I am.
I am on a continuous improvement path when it comes to communication. Working with people everyday, you need to adapt to their personality – I can be pretty direct with my communication and that does not always sit well with others. I still strive to improve in this area.
We pride ourselves on diversity and individuality, we brainstorm and all of us have a voice. Know that you can contribute right out of the gate.

As a parent, Julian loves doing things with his family. They enjoy sports, time outdoors and going on adventures.

I have learned many role-specific and industry-specific technical things. It was a new field for me when I joined in a completely new industry. However, I think the most valuable part for me has been working with a diverse group of people from different academic backgrounds, different levels of experience and different perspectives. That’s neat and it has helped me grow and be more open and accepting of input form different people. I have learned that there is a lot of power in collaboration, that is probably the most rewarding part about working here.
I would tell them that we welcome new ideas and are always open to finding ways to be better. I think it is important for people to ask question and seek to understand why we do what we do at BOWEN.
Originally from New Zealand and Australia, Ocean relocated to Calgary and has been working at BOWEN since 2018. She loves to travel and has visited 26 countries with not much more than a bag of clothes and a selfie stick.
