Commitment to Diversity
It’s ingrained in everything we do.
More Than a Social Imperative
A diverse and inclusive workforce is more than a social imperative. It leads to better staff retention, a greater understanding of different markets and a more creative mix of people. We’re passionate about connecting under-represented groups with employment opportunities. From our roots in matching immigrants with employers to our work securing employment opportunities for women and developing partnerships within the Indigenous community, we remain a strong proponent of diversity in the workplace.
A Women Business Enterprise
Our commitment to diversity starts at the top. In 2015, we secured a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certification. Why? We’re a majority woman-owned, managed and controlled company. In 2018, BOWEN Group was named WBE of the Year. The WBE of the Year recognizes one female-owned enterprise in Canada demonstrating excellence in growth, innovation, accomplishments, impact on the economy and dedication to community service.
In 2016, BOWEN Group furthered our commitment to diversity by partnering with Stream Source, an Indigenous-owned provider of Indigenous recruitment, with the goal to secure long-term sustainable employment and partnerships for Indigenous people and businesses.
Support for New Canadians
Since the beginning, diversity has remained ingrained in everything we do. Our foundational program Immigrant Works matched and supported unemployed or underemployed immigrants to job opportunities. We connected new Canadians with leading companies for paid, meaningful work experience and the opportunity for long-term viable employment in relevant technical fields.
