Calgary, May 21, 2015 – Shannon Bowen-Smed, President and CEO of BOWEN, has been named one of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs as part of the 17th annual W100 ranking of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs, produced by PROFIT and Chatelaine. Shannon is currently ranked 29th in Canada’s largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial achievement by women.

Since joining BOWEN in 1984 at the age of 19, Shannon has held many different roles before becoming President and CEO in 1996. Shannon successfully diversified the organization’s business lines and, has developed an enviable client list, working with many of Canada’s top companies and candidates. In the past five years alone, BOWEN’s profit has more than doubled, increasing from $30 million to $75 million in revenue.
As a dedicated philanthropist, Shannon’s true passion is giving back and her personal mission is to enrich the lives of children, women and men that reach far beyond the world of business. Whether it’s supporting programs that feed hungry children or offering hope to families who experience the tragedy of infancy and pregnancy loss, Shannon gives freely of her time, energy and support.
