Getting Started With BOWEN
As you get started on your new contract assignment with our client, we have the online and mobile-friendly tools ready to make it easy to work with BOWEN. Watch for an email invitation from your BOWEN Assignment Manager with your username and password to access your candidate profile and timesheets on our secure website at mybowen.ca
BOWEN will administer contractors as independent contractors if it’s agreed upon by your on-site supervisor. Our Assignment Managers will work with you to help determine your eligibility for independent contractor administration and answer any questions you may have.
While you are a contractor through BOWEN, we want you to feel like a BOWEN employee. Our Contractor Handbook includes everything you need to know about us from group benefits and perks to getting paid. Browse through it before starting your assignment:
Let’s get you ready to go. As a BOWEN temporary or contract employee, we need a few key documents before you begin your assignment. Send these forms to your BOWEN Assignment Manager, who may also ask you to sign off on policies that may apply to your assignment before starting.
We need your completed Federal TD1 and Provincial TD1 forms to BOWEN’s payroll team before your assignment starts. Please visit the CRA website and select the form that applies to you:
Download and complete our direct deposit form and submit it along with your void cheque.
If your position is classified as safety-sensitive, this means you are in role that requires verified certification, medical clearance or other compliance-related verification. You may be required to complete additional measures before you begin working. Check with your BOWEN Assignment Manager to confirm your pre-employment requirements.

Managing Pay, Expenses & Allowances
The following guides will help you find answers on our policies, payroll deadlines and instructions for timesheets and expenses on mybowen.ca We`re just a phone call away if you have a question or need clarification.
You are responsible to ensure that your timesheet is approved in advance of the deadline: Monday 1 p.m. MT. Late timesheet approvals will result in a delay of payment to the week following approval. Submit a timesheet for each week of contract, including zero-hour timesheets for weeks not worked.
Overtime hours are calculated on both a daily and weekly basis. To provide complete visibility for supervisors of the total hours worked during a pay period, you will record both regular and overtime hours on a timesheet. Find a guide below:
We make it easy to get paid for eligible allowances and expenses. Enter and upload your receipts and supporting documents all in one place, using the expense tab on our online timesheets. Skip the notes or comments on your timesheet when entering expenses and allowances, as we don’t refer to these when processing reimbursements.
Did you know that BOWEN adds all taxes to your reimbursement for eligible expenses, while on assignment with our client? Here’s what you need to know to ensure your receipt amounts line up with our calculations, to avoid payment delays:
BOWEN Contractor Group Benefits Program
Our group benefits program has been exclusively developed for BOWEN’s contingent workforce and their families. To qualify for the program, you must be currently working for BOWEN, have worked an average of 30 hours per week and have been on assignment or will be starting an assignment that is at least six months.
Perkopolis Discount Program
We’ve partnered with Perkopolis to bring you access to various discounted products and services including: theatre, hotels, attractions, movies, shopping, travel and much more from top brands and retailers across Canada. You simply create an account, login to the website and add products to your shopping cart. Payment is processed online and the products are delivered to you either electronically or directly to your home address.
