Last year, the Calgary Food Bank handed out 66,204 emergency food hampers to families and individuals in need across the country.
No one should go hungry over the holiday season. That’s why BOWEN Group stepped up to host an office-wide holiday food drive.
We knew the BOWEN Group team could do great things collectively. But, we also knew that a competition would do even better things for the community. Did you see what happened with our toy drive donation competition last year? Things got a bit crazy (in a good way). Competition is good for BOWEN, so it’s good for the community.
The competition was fierce.
The Calgary office divided into five teams and went head-to-head to compete for the best donation display and the most non-perishable points.
As expected with this rivaling group, the entire office came through with thousands of non-perishables and impressive donation display designs:
But, it didn’t stop there.
At our BOWEN Group holiday party, we took it up a notch and held a raffle for the Calgary Food Bank.
At the end of the night, employees had raised over $1,650 for those in need. This amount was generously matched by our employee fund, and matched again by our corporate fund. All in all, $5,000 was raised for the Food Bank!

What really topped off the BOWEN Group Food Bank Frenzy was the generosity of the entire community. Friends, family, neighbours and local businesses all joined together to collectively help us raise more than $5,000 and thousands of cans for the food bank.
