Jobs
BOWEN Group is a Canadian leader in recruitment solutions and contractor management. While roots and headquarters are in Calgary, Alberta, we currently have candidates and contractors placed in nine provinces across the country and have the capabilities to source and place people outside of Canada depending on the location and terms of the placement.
It depends on the assignment. BOWEN Group candidates and contractors have access to short-term, long-term and permanent career opportunities in a wide range of industries and positions. Contract assignments might be a day or two; they might be several weeks, months or even a year in length.
Thirty years ago it may have been common for staffing firms to source entry level, administrative people. Today, we place professional, managerial, field, technical and highly specialized candidates at all levels in a wide range of industries and positions. With the rate of change in the world of work on the rise, the percentage of contractors in the workforce is constantly growing.
BOWEN Group is so much more than a traditional staffing firm – we are an end-to-end recruitment solutions and contractor management firm, offering a multitude of workforce services and benefits to our candidates, contractors and clients.
BOWEN places candidates across Canada in all industries and all job families – from junior to senior executive roles, field and technical positions to administrative positions. Visit our job postings to view our current postings.
Yes, lots! You can specify permanent placement as your preference when you apply.
Pay
No. To help you understand how our business model works – we are hired by companies to find candidates to fill specific job requests, and not the other way around. What this means for you is there is zero cost to you as a BOWEN Group candidate. While we can’t guarantee placement for everyone who applies, if you are a right-fit candidate for a job posting, we will present you to the employer and do everything we can to get you placed. We do not take a cut – 100% of your wages go to you!
Yes. If you’re on a temporary or contract assignment with BOWEN Group and you are not an independent contractor, you’re eligible for statutory holiday pay under the Canadian government’s employment standards. BOWEN Group pays according to the employment standards of the province in which the work is conducted.
In most cases, you’ll remain at the same rate when transferring your contract to BOWEN Group. Once you have completed a right to represent agreement with us, we are able to obtain your pay rate, which is set by the company (our client) you are contracted to. Our client has complete control over your pay rate based on their evaluation of current market conditions and their business needs. The same applies to all contractor management service providers, not just BOWEN Group.
Eligibility and pay rates for payroll contractors are determined by the Canadian government under employment standards in your province of work. The same applies regardless of the contractor management service provider you’re working with. We make it easy for you to know if you’re eligible for overtime, as this will be clearly explained in your BOWEN Group contract or assignment details. Any eligible overtime must be pre-approved by your supervisor (our client).
Yes. If you’re on a temporary or contract assignment with BOWEN Group and you are not an independent contractor, you receive 4 percent vacation pay in lieu of paid time off. You have access to this money when you earn it, so that you can decide how to use it or save for when you’re not working.
Your paystubs and T4s will not be emailed or mailed to you. Your paystubs and T4s are available on Payworks. Alternatively, you can download your current and past T4s directly from the CRA website. To request T4s from 2018 and before, you can also reach out to the BOWEN Group team.
